Woman Arrested for Calling 911 to Rescue Pit Bull

by No Dogs Allowed

troubleStaten Island, N.Y. – Police arrested 27-year-old Candice Salvatore on Tuesday after she called 911 to report an abandoned baby that turned out to be a pit bull pup.

Ms. Salvatore told an Emergency Services operator that a baby had been abandoned in the rain near her Mariners Harbor home; but when police arrived, they found a pit bullish-type pup instead of an infant.

Cops arrested Ms. Salvatore and charged her with reckless endangerment and filing a false report.

The misguided pit-wit said she called 911 because her calls to a rescue operation went ignored.  “She kept saying how she kept calling the shelter and they kept hanging up,” said neighbor Veronica Munoz.

If she loves pits that much and this one was just a pup, why didn’t she rescue it herself?  Pit-wits are nit-wits indeed.

“If she loves pits that much and this one was just a pup, why didn’t she rescue it herself?”

Maybe she wasn’t that stupid! Glad she got in trouble though. Our emergency services are already overloaded.

  2. KaD

Goes to show you the mentality of the people who are drawn to pits. I’ll bet if it had been a baby she’d have walked right by. I’m glad they charged her. Too bad someone with brains didn’t find the mini-mauler; they could have tossed it in the water and saved someone from injury.

  3. Puma

Should have drowned the pup. It would be one less future monster in the future. Then again, pitwits are nitwits so that concept would have been completely lost on the stupid woman. I’m happy she got arrested. No more saving pit bulls! Death should be instantaneous if a pit bull is found anywhere, home or feral. That’d clean up the shitbull mess. No mercy for the hellspawn! There’s a reason why shelters aren’t taking them, stupid flea of a human!

  4. Mercedes2014

Police/Emergency services are for the protection of humans….
    and dogs are NOT HUMAN….
Glad to hear this lady/blatant liar/nutjob is facing charges for her obvious misuse of the police….

This woman is obviously a lunatic and should be committed.

But the POUND should have picked up the dog, or it could grow up to be a stray pit bull living on the streets and killing children.

  6. KaD

Let me get this straight; she got arrested for calling about a pit bull; but a pit bull can put someone in the hospital or kill them and the dog’s owner isn’t arrested. WTH?

I am not a particular DOG hater but I AM a dog owner hater. It is the owners that skeeve me right out.
I came across a thread on a forum not too long ago about someone who had just lost a 16 year old dog… they were acting as if this animal was a human and even went so far as to make comparisons between her dog and someone’s grandmother dying as well as someone aunt that had passed away! Ludicrous.
I came across another thread where someone asked the question- your dog or your significant other– 90% of the people chose their dog!! :(
The story above is very similar to these threads that I had discovered. How people anthropomorphize and humanize these animals is nauseating.
The police are here to serve and protect PEOPLE. What does this idiot not understand about that fact?
This all being said- I DO own a dog. Hopefully I can still participate on this blog to bash me some dog owners :)

Irresponsible dog owners are the main reason we hate dogs. If they wouldn’t let their dogs bark incessantly, attack people, and poop all over the place, there wouldn’t be much to hate.

It’s the dog’s behavior we hate, but the owner has a duty to prevent that behavior or clean up after it, and bad owner’s don’t… causing a lot of hatred.

Anyway, yeah, the ones who anthropomorphize their dogs… ugh! They make me want to puke. Get it through your heads, people, your dog is NOT your son or daughter. And if you think your dog’s death compares to the loss of an actual human child, you should be shot.

And anyone who would choose their dog over their spouse either has a really rotten spouse and should get divorced, or has a deeply unappreciated spouse and should still get divorced so s/he can find someone worthy.

Welcome, Bo! IMO we need more reasonable and responsible dog owners, like you, on our side. The irresponsible and unreasonable ones make you all look bad, and make all of us hate your dogs….

    • Bo, I welcome you with caution, because we’ve had dog owners comment on this site, and they get offended pretty quickly. And we don’t tolerate lecturing such as “oh, it’s just bad dog owners you hate, I’m the perfect all-around dog owner, and I can make anyone love sweet little doggie-woggies” because no, you can’t.

I dislike dogs and think they make poor pets because they’re ill-suited to modern lifestyles. We don’t have animals to herd, and most people are not at home all day to cater to the needy furball, and most people – even if they have the time and energy – do not walk the mutt for the 5-10 miles it requires every day.

So again, I welcome you with caution, but believe it’s likely that you will be offended quickly – and if you post offensive messages or attack people, I’ll ban you immediately. I’ve done so with other dog-lovers who still subscribe to my posts.

    • KaD

I live with a dog too. Welcome to some sanity Bo!

I could care less about the dog. We have tons of pollution by dogs, and dog nutters that think dog barking is ok for their neighbors to put up with because a dog owner is special, NOT. I keep saying and I will until someone listens. There are 29,000 children dying every day in the world per Unicef because of starvation and disease. There are 17 million children in this country in poverty. There are 5 children a day beaten to death from abuse in the United States, and yet animal lovers spend 60 billion a year on their pets. We are a screwed up society when are priorities are frigging flea bags and not tomorrows future.

  9. S

No, the scripture isn’t literally referring to dogs, but it does draw an analogy that illustrates that dogs are lesser beings than human children.

    • Just to let everyone know, I banned Bo. Bo, your comments annoyed me. You may like the site “Top Ten Reasons Why I Hate Dogs,” which I have linked to on the right. It’s more tolerant of dog-lovers.

This site is a haven for dog-haters, and I want to keep it that way. Thank you for your understanding.

      • S

Jesus was referring to a non-Israelite woman who was seeking his help — in his analogy, she was the dog, and the children of Israel were the children. She persuaded him by arguing that the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from the table, and he helped her. So, no, that scripture is not literally about dogs, Just the same, it does thoroughly illustrate that dogs were not held in the same regard as children. Jesus wouldn’t use that metaphor if dogs were equal to humans.

        • KaD

That’s NOT what it says. And I’m guessing you’re not a bible scholar. And this isn’t the site for a bible interpretation.

          • S

It sounds like I know the Bible a lot better than you do. Ask any pastor — s/he will agree with my interpretation.

            • S

Why don’t you give us your interpretation since you fancy yourself such an expert?

              Matthew 15:

22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.

23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.

24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.

26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs.

27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.

28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

            • I’m grateful to have such an intelligent and well-informed debate on this site, however….I get nervous anytime a debate veers off into personal-attack territory.

I’m grateful to have you both as commenters on this site, because you two have supported it from the beginning, unlike many others who comment for a month or two, then vanish.

I blame myself for this problem because I allowed “Bo” the dog-loving troll through. Trolls like to divide and conquer like-minded people. And dog-lovers hate this site with a holy passion. Many of them have signed up for posts and comments, although you may not see their comments because I’ve already banned them – or else they know better than to post anything. And I can tell some of these people are dog-lovers because they’re my fellow WordPress bloggers who have doggie avatars. Yuck!!!!!

Please, let’s not allow dog-loving trolls to divide us. We are a minority against the mindless, mainstream sheeple opinion that dogs are a wonderful elixir to cure life’s ills. (I almost gagged when I typed that!) From now on, I will monitor people more closely, and if anyone admits they love dogs, then I will ban them right off. There are countless other sites for dog lovers to express themselves on, and few for people who detest dogs. We need a safe haven, and I’m trying to provide that with this site.

              • S

Thanks, NDA. I agree and appreciate what you said. I have no idea why anyone would be so upset by what I said, and nobody who knows me would question my knowledge of the Bible. That was bizarre to me.

Anyway, I understand your point about being free of dog lovers. Yet, in a way, I’m tempted to think that it would be good to get as many people on our side as possible, and there are many dog owners and lovers who agree with our assessment of irresponsible dog owners. There are many people who like dogs but gag at people who call dogs their “children.” I want as many people as possibly to be on our side and to listen to our points, and if that means including some who happen to like dogs, then, maybe it’s worth it.

But at the same time, it can be good to have a haven of dog haters only, a safe place to vent. Sometimes the dog lovers push me so far that I want to joke about dogs getting kicked in the face or whatever. I don’t mean it, and I don’t go out and hurt dogs, but sometimes I need to blow off steam because the dog worshipers push me so far. And in order to have such a truly safe place, it needs to be free of dog lovers.

Okay, I’ll stop rambling now. Thanks for providing such a great site, and doing such a good job moderating it! :)

              • Rat Lover & Dog Hater!

Don’t worry DHU I know it can be annoying when the web glitches on you & trolls get in. The internet an be a duce sometimes. I really like it here and a facebook dog hating group that is a cat lover as the leader of the group. She is very nice & makes sure no dog lovers get into the group to suppress our views on dogs.

            • KaD

It’s an ‘interpretation’. The bible has a billion ‘interpretations’. That’s why I don’t believe in the bible. It can mean anything you want it to.

              • S

What I said was basically a summary of the context surrounding that scripture, and you responded by casting aspersions on my knowledge of the Bible. Now it sounds like you are backpedaling. Again, any pastor in the world will confirm what I said about it, which you found so objectionable.

I think it’s cruel and selfish to extend the life of a suffering, terminally ill dog. It’s also a waste of money that could do some real good.

    • Annette

My brother spent $5,000 to extend the life of his sick dog by two months. Radiation treatments. Meanwhile, his abandoned son was struggling to survive.

      • KaD

My SO did the same thing! For a dog that was already 30% OVER its average lifespan! What a huge waste! And the dog didn’t live long after the chemo either. When your dog get a serious illness just put it down! You can have another one tomorrow!

        • S

These people claim to do this out of love for their dogs, but the truth is they’re just prolonging the dog’s suffering. Let it go over the rainbow bridge and it won’t be in pain anymore. That’s the truly loving thing to do. They just want the dog around for their own selfish reason, not love.

      • S

Wow… just wow. I feel sorry for his son. I hope I never meet your brother, because I’d want to bitch slap him.

I have serious heart trouble and, think it would be a waste of my life if someone tied up Emergency services calling for a Pit- Bull, just as I was having a massive heart attack. They should be charged with murder.

  12. DogHater#1

The picture of the pit bull scares me :/. This is a waste of resources…

  13. Blore2Jax

I recently read a woman’s claiming to be a doggie-mamma – Is this what we have come down to as a society – caring less for humans and beings with a soul and encouraging and engaging in acts that nullify and degrade human life!!! I also read that there is a bill being pushed in FL to provide welfare coupons for DOGS…what deranged people do we have here!!

    • S

I’m glad I don’t live in Flori-duh. I do NOT want my tax dollars going to provide a dog for someone who can’t pay for it themselves. Nobody NEEDS a dog. Take it to a shelter if you can’t afford to feed it.

    • Fluffy The Kitten

      Oh no. I live in Flori-DUH. D:
