CORRECTION: The dog involved in this incident was not a service dog, as originally reported by WBAL. A 10-year-old girl was walking a dog yesterday, when the dog bolted and dragged the girl along, injuring her.
Owings Mills, MD - A service dog critically injured a 10-year-old girl last night by dragging her several feet across a backyard. The girl was so severely injured that she had to be stabilized at the scene and airlifted to Johns Hopkins Children’s Center.
The service dog belongs to the girl, who has special needs.
The girl had been visiting a family friend’s home. Witnesses say the dog got “distracted” by something, and began pulling the girl around the backyard.
